LINEAGE GUIDE / HHH
How to read a genetic lineage
Learn to distinguish a confirmed cross, a selection, a Clone Only reference and a lineage that is still pending.
Documented guide · 4 sections

1. Read the cross notation
The formula A × B identifies the documented parents of a cross. Their order and spelling should be preserved as shown in the profile source. When a genealogy has several levels, parentheses separate each generation; it should not be simplified if that would change its meaning.
2. Cross and selection are different facts
Lineage describes the documented genetic relationship, while selection identifies the specific material being preserved. Ao Zushi No Mi is a Blue Zushi selection, Mitsu Mitsu No Mi is a Smartiez selection and Sumi Sumi No Mi is a Carbon Fiber selection. That relationship does not justify inventing an additional cross.
3. What Clone Only means
Clone Only describes how material is preserved and circulated: it identifies a selection maintained clonally, not an equivalent seed. At HHH, the commercial format is presented as a cut, and the profile should pair it with breeder, provenance and lineage whenever those facts are documented.
4. Pending data is still informative
When the exact cross or provenance has not been confirmed, marking it as pending protects traceability. A documented profile separates confirmed facts from details still awaiting verification and can be updated when a stronger source appears without rewriting the rest of the identity.
